I like to be called Whits. I like tech, art, philosophy, psychology and building projects which help solve problems.

I started my career as a software developer and then got into startups, I started managing dev teams and doing a lot more product management type work where I'd engage with clients and help them think of the best features or routes to market. I loved that.

I loved it so much that I started my own software agency - Brave Orbit which I ran for 4 years. Those were some of the most intense years but also some of the best lessons and relationships I have built.

What I do now

I'm a technical product manager at Chess.com. I love how engineering oriented the organisation is while now being too corporate and powering a large part of the world of chess.

Recently

I am worked for a non-profit called Umuzi, focused on providing youth access to high value digital careers. My role was Head of Programmes which covered Learner Experience, Recruitment and Matching. I was promoted to EXCO and really loved the creative and technical direction I get to have working within this role.

Outside of work

I have a partner I love and go rock climbing with, we live together with our two kitties. I love reading, bathing, music, cooking for friends, snowboarding, drawing and tinkering.
